Final Exam

Poster (groen)On June 24th, 2015 at 14:00 I will perform my Final Exam at the Utrecht Conservatory!
I will play works from the composers Ton de Leeuw, Jean Francaix, Frank Proto, and Giovanni Bottesini!

Hope to see you there!

Family

I just added a new track ‘Family’ to my music page. I recorded a few notes and effects for the Dutch electronic producer, Feiertag. I love the mix of acoustic instruments and electronics in this track. Keep an eye out for Feiertag in 2015!

Today and Tomorrow

In case you missed out today, on your copy of the Dutch Newspaper AD , there was a vignette on what music I was listening to.

Last Saturday I was dreamily walking around the city when I was stopped and asked what I was listening to. I was caught totally off-guard, and was stumbling over my broken Dutch words. The woman asked me why I liked what I was listening to, and it was surprisingly hard to explain it! If you enjoy something, it becomes so much a part of you that you stop asking yourself why you actually like it, and articulating that was difficult. I was nervous that I would come over really dumb, but I hope that isn’t the case. The Dutch version reads a bit smoother than the English translation.

Translation: What are you listening to?
Laura Nygren (23) from utrecht
Petruchska- Igor Stravinsky

“This work by Stravinsky is beautiful. Sometimes it is suddenly very fast and upbeat and then it becomes peaceful. It has a lot of textures and atmosphere. I am a double bassist, studying at the conservatory, so I listen a lot to classical music. But what few people know about me is that I really like R&B!”

Don’t forget to turn your clocks back, tomorrow, and turn on your radio to Radio 4, between 10 am and 11 am, to listen to Het Nieuw Klassiek Collectief LIVE in the Spiegelzaal!

Spiegelzaal

Catch me this weekend playing with Het Klassiek Collectief live from the Spiegelzaal on Radio 4! The program begins at 10:00 a.m. presented by Hans van den Boom. You can find more information here. We will be playing a movement from Mozart Grand Partita and the final movement of Beethoven’s First Symphony.

Coming soon…

After a relaxing summer, I’m back on the horse, practicing for my final exam coming up in June 2015! I’m busy with a few side projects including Het Klassiek Collectief (you can find concert information on the agenda page), and also some things that I can’t share yet but am very excited about.

Check back soon for more updates!
